2026 will be our 30th year of serving the community. We are thankful that our community has supported the market for the past 29 years and we are thrilled to continue promoting community development and health. The Woodland Farmers Market is held at the same location for both our Saturday and Tuesday markets on First Street across from the Woodland Public Library There is plenty of parking and easy access for customers with strollers, wheel chairs and walkers. This is a family friendly market with fun activities for the kids too!

In 1995, a serendipitous meeting between two small family farmers happened, and the planning began to start a farmers’ market in Woodland. Took time to find out what was needed and how to start the process, but we did it!
In 1996, The Woodland Farmers Market officially opened offering a weekly summer season farmers market where Woodland residents could have easy access to fresh local produce. The Woodland Farmers Market has been offering quality goods at reasonable prices in a fun, festive atmosphere. “I love talking to people at the market” says co-founder Sonia Mora, “We often share recipes and it’s wonderful to hear how much someone liked something as they come back week after week!”
The Woodland Farmers Market began in the parking lot of the County Fair Mall. After 11 years at the County Fair Mall, it was time to move the market to Downtown Woodland! There were a few temporary homes, Freeman Park, Main Street, Heritage Plaza, until we found our permanent home on First Street in front of the Woodland Public Library.
In 2011, the Woodland Farmers Market split the location of the Tuesday and Saturday markets to better serve our community. The Saturday market remained in the Downtown Woodland area (on First Street) and the Tuesday market was moved to Dignity Health at Woodland Memorial Hospital. In 2024 we moved the Tuesday market to our First Street location, where the Saturday market was held for better parking and less confusion for customers when looking for us. One location, two different days.
In October of 2012, The Woodland Farmers Market became a 501C3 non profit organization. Our local market, although seasonal, features only the highest quality, locally grown produce grown with 100 miles of Woodland. In addition to gorgeous fruits and vegetables, the market offers fresh eggs, artisan breads, handcrafts, fresh fish, entertainment and more. All items are reasonably priced and in many cases, offer shoppers big savings and of course you cannot beat the taste of the fruits and vegetables
The Woodland Farmers Market accepts CalFresh EBT cards and WIC We also have a market match program where we can match your EBT dollars up to $15 per market visit. So you should use your EBT cards at the market every time you attend the market! The Woodland Farmers Market customers can also use their credit or debit cards at the information booth to purchase “market bucks” to spend at any vendor booth! No need to go to the ATM before heading to the market.
The Woodland Farmer’s Market is the hub of community where you can meet new friends, say hello to old ones, and take part in fun activities for the whole family. The Saturday Woodland Farmers Market operates from the middle of May to Mid October and sometimes to if Mother Nature is cooperative and the Woodland Farmers Market Tuesday market is open in June, July and August. Don’t miss out on the fun and come support your local farmers.
